My sister worked at Disney for years and we all much preferred Universal
Within Harry Potter's World is one of those visual-animation-combo-moving-ride-things that disorients a lot of people. I think the video gets out of sync with the movement. My son called it the "hurler." I can't recall the name, but you'll probably ride it once and decide that's enough. Someone recently sued over it, though it's really not that bad.
There is a train that takes you from one part of Harry Potter's world to another, and it's worth a ride. There is a dragon that snorts a huge flame every so often in diagon alley. That's worth seeing. However, it is real flame and really hot.
The food in Harry Potter's World is also pretty good. My wife and son loved the butter beer (?).
There are two parts to Universal, and up front between the two are some good restaurants and bars. We really liked a cuban restaurant there, but I didn't see it this last visit. Could have been me just missing it. There is a large concert hall, which I think is run by Hard Rock. You should check the schedule before you go to get tickets and plan around the event.
There are some great roller coasters in the park. The Hulk was named the world's best a few years back. The first time you ride it be prepared for a huge surprise.
Overall, excellent park. By the way, the express pass alone is worth staying in the on-property hotels. Plus, the boat ride to the park is pretty cool.
